Hi my/our mom irene was a very special person, always doing things for other people and never taking time for herself. she was one of life's givers not takers, she always worked hard to provide for her family.making sure there was nothing that she couldnt help us out with. my mom didnt have much of a good life,she lost 2 children, our sister helen who died at the age of 2 and then again our brother patrick who was just 8 hours old when god took him to the garden in the sky.
With 3 girls to look after it really couldnt have been easy, but she did a brilliant job.I fell pregnant at the age of 15 in 1998 my son was born in may 99 she was so amazing helping me through it and teaching me how to care for my baby boy. soon came new years eve 99 and i decided to stay at home with my then bf and my new son,rather than goin to my sister donna's house to celebrate with the rest of my family.Little did i know that it would be the last new year my mom would see in.Unfortunately she was diagnosed wiv pancreatic cancer in march 2000 at the age of 55, it was the biggest shock of our lives. there was me with a new baby to bring up and then to be told that ur rock ur mother was goin to be leaving. i was totally devestated and so where my sisters, we tried everything to help.my poor mom was givin 6 months to live on march 3rd 2000,we'd had a 1st family holiday abroad booked for october 2000 after finally managing to talk mom around to flying.she wouldnt even make that holiday and doctors told us not to move it forward because she would be to ill to fly anyway. On my 17th birthday my mom was in hospital so i had to go visit her there, it was unbearable. she came home abaout a week later and from then on i was her full time carer, helping her to dress,wash,go to the toilet and towards the end helping her to eat, as my sisters both worked it was hard for them to help out as much as they wanted to.my mom was taken into hospital on monday 26th june 2000. i called my sisters and told them they had to come to the hospital quickly as mom didnt have much time. we were told she wouldnt see the next few hours and to arrange for family to come say their goodbyes.my mom was a fighter though as we sat round her hospital bed,she fought through monday and again on tuesday also wednesday but unfortunatly lost her battle for life on thursday 29th june 2000. she left 3 grandchildren behind,aimee,hope and my son jordan who she only got to share his 1st birthday with before she was taken to rest in the garden in the sky.she also left 3 daughters sharron,donna and me lynne who miss her dearly everyday.she now has 3 new grandchildren that she never got to meet in person,but i know she was there for all the births.megan,harmony and lewis.There isnt a day that goes by that i/we dont think about her, but i look at it like this...she is now looking after her children that were gone to soon. so i wish her happiness and know she'll be waiting to greet me/us when my/our time comes,hopefully when im old and have watched my/our children grow. god bless u mom u are 1 in a million. so if i have 1 plea to people its to cherish ur parents and all other family memebers cause u never know how long u've got them round u.
